I was in hospital for 2 wks with pneumoccocal pneumonia and a collapsed lung, any tips to a fast recovery?

On February 10, 2012, in Uncategorized, by admin

I have now been out just over a week and still have back pains, cannot lay flat and have lost tuns of weight. Any exercises or information to speed the recovery would be great!!

My goodness dont be in such a hurry my love,it can take a very lo ng time, you have been a very sick person. Drink plenty of fluid, not booze, eat sensibly, and keep warm, with plenty of rest, you will be okay, good luckxx

get plenty of rest and exercise moderately.be sure to take any medicines you are prescribed.put a heating pad on the areas that are hurting you the most.this all takes time for your body to heal.i have had this happen to me three times after three lung surgeries.

What are the causes of Bronchitis?

On January 27, 2012, in Uncategorized, by admin

My sister has been coughing a whole lot. She went to the doctor today and they said it is bronchitis. Her coughing seems to be very deep. She did say that her chest hurts when she coughs. She doesn't have asthma and she doesn't smoke. Are the doctors right telling her she has bronchitis?

Hi

The most common way to get bronchitis is by contacting a virus.?This travels into your bronchi, causing infection. Your body will then start to fight the virus that caused bronchitis. As a result, there will be more swelling and the quantity produced will be larger.

The most known virus that causes bronchitis is the sams one that causes the cold. There are also cases when a bacteria is responsible for bronchitis, most likely after viral infections, such as a cold.

Yeah I got it before recently (don't have it anymore) because I had caught a cold.

I don't smoke or have asthma.

I have a 6 yr old Weimaraner who has had aspiration pneumonia several times, how long can you use antibiotics?

On January 27, 2012, in Uncategorized, by admin

He has also developed tachycardia and is on a beta blocker. The pneumonia is in various areas of his lungs, so it is not a foreign body.I am not sure how to care for him, I wan't to do the right thing.A couple of days after the start of antibiotics, he is fine and happy.

Wow…Dogger's immune system is overloaded, right ?

Here's my advice…I'm a former vet tech but I'm a firm believer in mother nature… :-)

Any systemic infection like what dogger has is a clear sign that dogger isn't getting the “micro” nutrients that he needs to fight off an awful infection like this…

My personal advice ? Two simple things…

Raw, unpasturised, Apple cider vinegar added to doggers food twice a day (too in-debth to go into, please do the research)…And Bee pollen added to doggers food… A whole food, packed with micro nutrients that are cooked out of doggers commercial food…

Seriously…The vinegar (raw, not pasturised) will boost his immune system like you wouldn't believe…The bee pollen will provide the whole food micro nutrients that he needs to overcome this just like eating raw foods in the wildwould do for him if he were running free…

Please continue with what the vet ordered, but also concider what I've suggested here, o.k. ?

What Mojo said, but also try using some natural antibiotics, like Astragalus and Grapefruit Seed extract. Also, try Mucinex to help clear his lungs and a vaporizor.Give him plain yogurt to help balance the good bacteria as well. CO Q 10 is great for the heart.Warm, homemade chicken and beef broth, with added carrots, celery, garlic and parsley,is great for a dog with lung problems. Also, has the mucus been cultured to see exactly what it is? This could really help,as it would let the vet know exactly what antibiotic to use.But you can use antibiotics for months if you have to.

Difficult to breath. What could be the problem?

On January 25, 2012, in Uncategorized, by admin

I'm a 16 year old girl. Since Sunday, I have been having breathing problems. It has been kinda difficult to exhale. I went to the doctor on Tuesday, and had a blood test for anemia, mono, and some liver thing. The tests came back negative. I went back to school on Thursday, but left halfway through the day because my breathing was bad again. I got x-rays done that day, the the doctors couldn't find anything wrong with my lungs or ribs. They said it could be pleurisy and to take advil to see if that's help. So Friday I went back to school, and my breathing seem almost normal. Last night, my breathing got bad again. I took some more advil. I laid in my bed for awhile, and next thing I know, I was gasping for air. I don't know if I had fell asleep or not. I stopped taking the advil because every time I took the advil, I seemed to have some problems.

I have no idea what I have. I'm so scared. What could be wrong? Please help.

Honestly, people on yahoo answers aren't gonna have answers. It sounds like you might need to go to the ER, they might be able to run some more thorough tests. God bless!

What do you think about free flu and pneumonia vaccines that the?

On January 25, 2012, in Uncategorized, by admin

government offers to individuals with an yearly average of an household income of 75,000 to more each year in regards of the medicaid and medicare program?

Seems unreasonable but as long as they provide it for the poor and needy is what really counts.Besides, those that make big bucks are not apt to stand in line with the rest of us peons just for a free shot.If they do, they are really sick.

What's the best non-prescription drug to treat lung inflammation?

On January 25, 2012, in Uncategorized, by admin

Had really bad flu for a week.Afterwards, I had really bad cough and now has been 3 weeks.Went to doctor, and he said it's lung inflammation and prescribed Methylprednisolone.Works extremely well but now running out of Methylprednisolone and it has no refills. What's the best non-prescription drug to treat lung inflammation?

A Medrol-dose-pak (aka MDP) is only used for 7 days in decreasing amounts every day, if you feel like you are not getting any better you should return to the doctor. He can prescribe you something stronger, ex. Amoxillician, Cipro, Keflex, Levaquin. In the mean time before seeing the doctor you could try some Robitussin or Delsym for the cough.

Well if your still having the problem with your lungs, maybe you could call the doctor office and see if they'd call you in some more, it may take going back to the doctors again… Maybe something more than just that.. you never can be safe when it comes to your lungs ya know in the mean time here's some links you can go thru and see if this might help? good luck hope you feel better soon!!!!

They told us with my dad that earlier detection of Lung Cancer is the best detection.. They caught my dad's lung cancer by a Cat scan…

Ibroprofen (like Nurofen) has anti-inflammetry in. But they can also thin your blood, so if you have heart complaints they are no good.

Methylprednisolone is not recommended for long term use. It looks like a trip back to the doctor's is called for!
